Samantha did a small role in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya, which impressed its director Gautham Menon so much that he cast her as the female lead in its Telugu version Ye Maye Chesave opposite Naga Chaitanya.
She seems to have turned into Gautham’s favorite actress as he had roped her in for a bilingual. This film, which has not been named yet, will be made in Tamil and Telugu. Samantha is happy with the offer and is raring to prove her mettle as an actress in Kollywood. The shooting of this film is slated to begin next year, sources say.
